Kids in the City | Summer Holidays

Schools will be breaking up for the summer and the kids will have plenty of time on their hands. Too much of it maybe.  Don’t panic though, as we may have a few solutions to the frightening prospect of bored kids 24/7.

London

London is the UK's capital city and no doubt boasts tourist attractions, amazing restaurants, shops and many more. As adults, we love nothing more than to shop until we drop and end up sipping on a cocktail or two to finish the day off. As kids, their boredom would reach new heights if you asked them to try so many outfits on and then only to watch you enjoy your third mojito whilst they settle for an orange juice. To cut a long story short, why not try something different and see those little faces light up?

Zoorassic Park Who doesn't ike Dinosaurs right? See the likes of moving Tyrannosaurus Rex, Brachiosaurus and Edmontonia (sounds the least threatening of them all), at ZSL Zoo. There’s even a chance for a sleepover!

Mudchute Farm and Park Claiming to be the largest urban farm in London at 34 acres, the kids can go horse riding, use educational facilities, see farm animals, plus you can also get a cuppa at the tea shop. Admission is FREE so what’s not to love?

Birmingham

Without sounding biased, we love Birmingham. Yes sure we hail from the second city but this place has so much to offer and without further ado, these are worth checking out:

The Bullring Shopping Centre With 160 stores, you will be spoilt for choice. More importantly on July 16th, the Minions from Despicable Me will be holding a meet and greet session at Selfridges. Tickets are complimentary but if you want to get that selfie, make sure you get your tickets here.

The Library of Birmingham The building itself is architecturally exquisite and also if you want to have a more chilled-out day, visit the Children’s Library on the lower level. Keep those brains active, plus peace and quiet? Yes please.

Paw Patrol These guys are far too cute to miss. If your kids watch Paw Patrol on Nickelodeon, this is a must-see. The show will be held at the Barclaycard Arena, the largest indoor arena in the UK. We’re not exaggerating, it is huge! The tickets are currently on sale here
